EBS Receives Praise for Historic Live Broadcast of Final

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Edo State chapter, praised the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) for its historic live broadcast of the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU-B final between Edo Queens and Ampem Darkoa FC of Ghana in Burkina Faso. In a statement signed by Secretary Comrade Idahosa Moses, SWAN described the broadcast as a landmark achievement, highlighting EBS as the only television station in Nigeria to provide live coverage of the match.

This initiative placed Edo State in the national and continental spotlight. SWAN also recognized Dr. Festus Alenkhe, the Acting Managing Director of EBS and Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council, for his leadership and efforts to enhance the station's capabilities.

SWAN noted that Alenkhe's tenure has been characterized by innovation and professionalism. The association commended the Edo State Government for its support of EBS under Alenkhe's leadership and expressed confidence in the station's future in sports broadcasting.
