TCN Declares Force Majeure on Ikeja-Osogbo Line

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced a Force Majeure on the Ikeja – Osogbo 330kV transmission line following a severe rainstorm that occurred on Thursday. According to Ndidi Mbah, the General Manager of Public Affairs at TCN, the line tripped during the storm due to a fault detected approximately 14.9 kilometers from the Ikeja West Ayobo end of the transmission line.

Further inspections by TCN maintenance crews revealed that tower number 515 had collapsed due to the storm's impact. TCN is currently mobilizing materials and personnel to re-erect the fallen tower, with engineering teams actively dismantling the affected tower.

The company assured that it will work diligently to restore service through flexible and redundant corridors, allowing for the evacuation of bulk power. Updates on the progress of the restoration efforts will be provided.
