TCN Completes Live-Line Maintenance on Zaria-Funtua Line

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carried out live-line maintenance on the Zaria-Funtua 132kV transmission line from July 4 to July 7, 2026. This maintenance involved the replacement of damaged glass disc insulators on selected transmission towers, specifically T14, T17, T40, T63, T78, T175, T177, and T178.

The operation was executed by TCN's live-line crew and was conducted without disrupting the bulk power transmission, ensuring continuous electricity supply throughout the exercise. The successful completion of this maintenance work highlights TCN's commitment to maintaining a safe, reliable, and efficient transmission network by deploying modern live-line maintenance techniques.
