Terrorists Attack Borno Settlement, One Dead, 1,400 Sheep Rustled

On March 10, 2026, at approximately 10:30 PM, a group of suspected Boko Haram ISWAP terrorists attacked the nomadic settlement of Wuturo in Konduga Local Government Area, Borno State. The assault resulted in the death of Ahmadu Baida, aged 40, who sustained fatal gunshot injuries, while another herder, Mohammadu Baida, aged 30, was injured with a gunshot wound to his left leg.

The attackers, riding five motorcycles, also rustled 1,400 sheep belonging to the herdsmen. The incident was confirmed by ASP Nahum Daso of the Borno State Police Command, which condemned the attack.

Following the report, a combined team of police and military personnel, including local hunters, was mobilized to the scene to evacuate the victims. The injured are currently receiving treatment.

The Borno State Police Command, under the direction of Nazir Abdulmajid, is coordinating efforts to track down the perpetrators and prevent further attacks, while assuring the community of their commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
