Terrorists Attack Sokoto Community, 21 Dead, 37 Abducted

On Monday night, a coordinated attack by heavily armed terrorists on Tsamaye community in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State resulted in at least 21 deaths and the abduction of 37 individuals. The assault began around 9 p.m. and continued until after 3 a.m. on Tuesday, marking the second attack on the community within a week.

Victims included Kabiru Tanimu, Ayuba Hashim, and Yakubu Mu’azu, with many others unaccounted for. The attackers set houses ablaze, rustled livestock, and forced thousands to flee, leaving the community nearly deserted.

In a tragic incident during the escape, overloaded boats capsized, resulting in 18 people feared drowned. Residents reported that the terrorists confirmed the abduction of 37 individuals when relatives called their mobile phones.

Many victims were taken from nearby farms where they sought refuge. Local residents criticized security personnel for failing to respond despite receiving early warnings about the attack.
