Three Arrested in Connection with Kwara Massacre

On February 3, 2026, a massacre occurred in Woro Village, located in the Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, resulting in numerous fatalities and abductions. In response to this attack, three suspects were arrested during a security operation aimed at restoring peace and rescuing abducted victims.

The arrests were disclosed by Ibraheem Abdullateef, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who noted that the suspects were apprehended while attempting to purchase a motorcycle, which was intercepted based on credible intelligence. The operation is part of a broader effort to track down those responsible for the massacre, which left a significant number of people dead and many others abducted, raising concerns about security in the area.

Governor Abdulrazaq condemned the attack as a cowardly act against innocent citizens, and President Bola Tinubu ordered the deployment of military personnel to the area to enhance security operations under the codename "Operation Savannah Shield.".
