Kany Tagbo-Okeke Sets Guinness World Record in Abuja

On a significant occasion in Abuja, Hannatu Musa Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture, and Tourism, received a Guinness World Record certificate on behalf of Kanyeyachukwu Kany Tagbo-Okeke, a 15-year-old autistic artist and cyclist. Kany achieved recognition for completing a remarkable 686-mile cycling expedition from Enugu to Lagos.

The event, which took place on March 19 to April 2, 2026, was acknowledged in a statement by Nneka Ikem Anibez, the Minister's Special Assistant on Media. Musawa commended Kany's family for their support and described Kany as a beacon of resilience and creativity, inspiring others and breaking barriers associated with autism.

Kany's mother, Dr. Silvia Tagbo-Okeke, was present to express gratitude for the ongoing support.

The expedition serves as a showcase of Nigeria's cultural heritage and community engagement, with Kany also preparing for an upcoming art exhibit at the United Nations in New York, scheduled from May 20 to August 25, 2026.
