Troops Arrest 11 Suspects with Explosives in Abuja

On April 27, 2023, troops from the Nigerian Army's 176 Guard Battalion arrested 11 suspects, including 10 males and 1 female, in Abuja for possessing explosive materials. The operation took place in the Kuje Area Council, specifically along the Kuchiyako Tipper Garage road, around 12:59 AM.

The suspects were intercepted while traveling in a vehicle loaded with materials believed to be used for producing improvised explosive devices. According to security sources, the suspects claimed they were en route to a mining site around Kabbin Mangoro in the Kuje Area Council to collect mineral resources.

Items found in their possession included explosive charges and three half bags of unidentified mineral substances. The suspects are currently held in military custody, and investigations are ongoing to determine their true intent and any possible links to criminal or terrorist activities.
