Troops Target Terrorists in Zamfara, Recover Arms

On March 25, troops from the 1 Brigade Counter Terror Unit launched a coordinated offensive against suspected terrorists in the Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The operation began in Dutsi Village, Moriki District, where troops made contact with terrorists, resulting in a fierce firefight that forced the criminals to retreat.

Although no further contact was established during the pursuit, the troops exploited the area and recovered an AK-47 rifle along with a magazine containing 26 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition. Later in the day, around 4:00 PM, the troops extended their offensive to Gandu Village, advancing towards suspected terrorist positions in elevated terrain.

They again engaged fleeing elements, further disrupting their movements and denying them freedom of action across the area.
