Tsangaya Union Empowers 200 Almajiris in Nasarawa

The Union of Tsangaya Qur’anic Reciters in Nasarawa state has empowered 200 Almajiris by providing them with various start-up tools and financial assistance. This initiative aims to promote self-reliance and enhance the socio-economic wellbeing of the beneficiaries.

On Sunday in Lafia, the chairman of the Union, Gwani Ahmad Isa Gwani, explained that the program is designed to complement Qur’anic education with economic empowerment, offering practical means of livelihood after the completion of their studies. The initiative seeks to reduce dependency and promote dignity of labor among young Qur’anic students.

Gwani emphasized the importance of building a culture of self-reliance and economic independence. He called for support from government agencies, traditional rulers, individuals, and organizations to sustain such initiatives.

Hon. Mohammed Haliru Arabo, chairman of Lafia local government council, praised the Union for this commendable effort, stating that the support would enable beneficiaries to establish sustainable businesses and improve their livelihoods.
