FCC Chairman Advocates Gender Balance at UN Summit

Hon. Omidiran, the Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), delivered a keynote address at a high-level side event titled "Global Women Partnership Without Borders" during the 70th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) in New York on Thursday morning.

The event, organized by the Betne Charity Foundation, aimed to bring together policymakers, civil society leaders, and global stakeholders to discuss strategies for advancing gender equality and international cooperation. Omidiran stressed that national unity cannot thrive in an environment of exclusion and that inclusivity in governance is fundamental to building resilient societies.

She highlighted the necessity of gender balance in leadership roles, asserting that equitable representation of women and men is crucial for sustainable development and enduring peace. Omidiran called on global leaders to prioritize policies that promote equal participation, stating that every citizen's voice matters for national prosperity.
