Ruth Usoro Wins Silver in Long Jump at Glasgow 2026

Ruth Usoro claimed silver in the women's long jump at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games on Saturday, achieving a season's best of 6.87m (+2.7) on her first attempt. Usoro led the competition for much of the event but fouled on her next two attempts, which were still enough to secure second place.

England's Jazmin Sawyers won gold with a jump of 6.93m, while Australia's Brooke Buschkuehl took bronze with a leap of 6.80m. This result is a notable improvement for Usoro, who finished sixth at the last Commonwealth Games.
