Police Rescue Man from Mob Over Robbery Allegations

In Rivers State, a man was nearly lynched by a mob after being accused of involvement in a suspected one-chance robbery operation. The incident, which was captured on video and shared on Instagram, occurred when the suspect allegedly stole a young woman's mobile phone while they were inside a commercial bus.

Eyewitnesses reported that a group of youths apprehended the suspect and assaulted him before police officers arrived at the scene. The police intervened promptly, taking the suspect into custody, handcuffing him, and escorting him away for further investigation.

Their swift action prevented the suspect from being lynched by the angry crowd. As of now, the police have not issued an official statement regarding the incident or confirmed the allegations against the suspect.
