Sowore Joins New York Protest for Palestinian Rights

Omoyele Sowore, a 2027 presidential candidate and pro-democracy activist, joined a 'Free Palestine' protest in New York, calling for an end to the conflict in Gaza and expressing solidarity with Palestinians. He shared a video of his participation, stating, “Yes, today in New York, I joined the Free Palestine protest.

No justice, no peace! Free Palestine!” Sowore condemned what he described as genocide by Israel in Gaza and asserted that Nigerians stand for justice and human rights for Palestinians.

The protest coincided with renewed demonstrations in New York, where hundreds gathered around the United Nations as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived. Jewish Voice for Peace reported that many Jewish, Palestinian, Iranian, and Lebanese New Yorkers participated in the anti-war demonstration on September 24, advocating for an end to U.S. support for Israel and the ongoing war in Gaza.

Sowore has a long history of activism in Nigeria, marked by protests and confrontations with government authorities.
