Malawi Appoints Sudesh Singh as Technical Adviser for WAFCON

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has appointed Sudesh Singh as the technical adviser for the Malawi women's national football team, known as the Scorchers, ahead of their participation in the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). Singh will work alongside head coach Lovemor Fazili and performance analyst Tyres Steyn.

This move follows a directive from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) that requires teams to have a licensed coach leading them in the tournament. Singh's role will involve providing technical guidance to the coaching bench, while Fazili will remain as the head coach throughout the tournament.

This will mark the Scorchers' maiden appearance at WAFCON, where they are drawn in Group C alongside defending champions Nigeria, regional rivals Zambia, and Egypt. Malawi is set to open their campaign against the Super Falcons in Rabat on Tuesday, July 28.
