ADC to Proceed with Congresses Amid Legal Concerns

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Rivers State chapter has announced its decision to proceed with scheduled ward and local government congresses on April 9 and April 11, 2023, respectively. State chairman Sampson, who is an ambassador and a leader within the party, stated that the decision follows a mandate from the party's national leadership led by David Mark.

He emphasized that the Rivers State chapter remains united and has no factions within its structure. The party is fully prepared to conduct congresses across the state, with various local government areas gathering at the party secretariat for final preparations.

The congresses are expected to take place across 6,000 units. Sampson assured that the party is complying with all legal procedures, including notifying the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) within the stipulated timeframe.

He dismissed concerns regarding ongoing litigation and accused INEC of deliberately excluding the party from recent electoral processes, warning that such actions undermine Nigeria's democracy.
