Arrest Made After Co-Wife's Death in Bauchi Incident

On September 27, 2026, at approximately 4:05 PM, the Bauchi State Police Command received credible information regarding a domestic incident involving two co-wives, Hauwa’u Haruna, 33, and Jamila Adamu, 43, residing in the same household. According to SP Nafiu Habib, the Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Police Command, preliminary investigations indicated that Haruna, while experiencing hallucinations, armed herself with a pestle and struck Adamu on the forehead, causing her to fall unconscious.

Detectives from the C-Division promptly responded to the scene, documenting the incident. Adamu was transported to the Specialist Hospital in Bauchi, where she was later pronounced dead by a medical doctor.

Her body has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for an autopsy. Haruna has since been arrested in connection with the incident.
