Zamfara Introduces Vocational Courses to Reform Education

Zamfara State is undertaking significant reforms in its education sector, as announced by Abdulmalik Gajam, the head of the Zamfara State Education Commission, during a press conference in Gusau. The reforms are part of Governor Dauda Lawal's agenda to improve access to quality education and strengthen educational institutions across the state.

The commission will distribute a national curriculum for junior and senior secondary schools to ensure uniform teaching standards and improve classroom monitoring. Newly introduced vocational subjects will expose students to practical skills in areas such as mining, electrical installation, computer maintenance, and GSM repair, preparing them for life after school.

The commission has also completed the digitalization of personnel records to enhance staff deployment and monitoring. Gajam disclosed that 13 PhD holders and 52 master's degree holders have been identified for strategic deployment based on qualifications and experience.

Additionally, the commission plans to vacate unauthorized teacher quarters within 30 days to improve school facilities.
