Ekiti PDP, APM Mobilize for Makinde's 2027 Presidential Bid

On Thursday, stakeholders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) convened in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, to strategize grassroots mobilization for Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde's presidential bid for the 2027 general elections. Mrs. Lanre Fajuyi, a PDP chieftain and convener of the alliance, stated that Makinde embodies the leadership Nigeria needs at this time.

Following the formalization of the PDP-APM alliance in May 2026, Makinde was named the APM presidential candidate. Fajuyi urged PDP and APM members across Ekiti to begin early mobilization efforts, focusing on engaging youths, women, and other stakeholders.

Sanya Atofarati, the PDP/APM spokesperson for the South-West, highlighted the alliance's goal to preserve multi-party democracy and provide a viable opposition platform against the ruling All Progressives Congress. He noted the importance of the alliance in light of the legal challenges facing the PDP.
