Kawu Condemns Removal of Campaign Billboards in Kwara

Suleiman Bolakale Kawu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 elections in Kwara State, criticized the removal of his campaign billboards across Ilorin, including locations like the Geri Alimi Underpass bridge, Agaka, and Adabata Junction. Kawu stated that he had paid all necessary dues to the Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA) before the billboards were taken down.

He described the removal as a disturbing act of intolerance towards legitimate political competition and warned that such actions, if politically motivated, represent an abuse of administrative power. Kawu affirmed that the removal of his name from billboards would not diminish his commitment to Kwara or his aspiration to serve the people.

He urged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to engage in political competition through ideas and performance rather than suppressing opponents. The PDP also condemned KWASAA's actions, asserting that the people's political choices cannot be erased by such measures.
