Adamawa Governor Fintiri Declares Mourning for Tukur

Ahmadu Fintiri, the Governor of Adamawa State, has announced a three-day mourning period across the state following the death of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur. Tukur, who served as the first civilian governor of the defunct Gongola State and was the former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), died at the age of 90.

In his statement, Governor Fintiri prayed for Tukur’s forgiveness, asking Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannah Firdaus and to provide his family with the strength to cope with their loss. Tukur is survived by two wives and 18 children, including Awwal Tukur, who serves as the Secretary to the Government of Adamawa State.
