Adeleke Calls Security Meeting Over Worship Center Threat

On Sunday, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke urged residents to report any suspicious movements or individuals to security agencies, following intelligence about a potential terrorist threat targeting worship centers. This announcement came after a meeting held by the Department of State Services with leaders from the Osun Muslim Community and the Christian Association of Nigeria, where they were informed of plans by terrorists to disrupt peace in the South-West region, potentially affecting voter turnout in the 2027 elections.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke called for heightened vigilance and intelligence sharing with security forces. He commended the DSS for its proactive measures and instructed other security agencies to develop action plans to enhance security.

Adeleke plans to convene a State Security Council meeting to assess the situation and urged community leaders to be cautious about hosting unfamiliar individuals. He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to maintaining peace and security in the state.
