Bandits Kill Sikiru, Abduct Family in Kaduna Attack
On Thursday around 1pm, bandits attacked a community in Kaduna, resulting in the death of a man named Sikiru and the abduction of his wife and two children, along with others. The assailants first invaded the home of an elderly man, abducting two of his children before moving to Sikiru's residence, where they killed him during a struggle.
They also targeted a neighboring house, abducting a woman and her four children, although the woman was later rescued by soldiers and local vigilantes. Usman Adamu, the commander of the local vigilantes, confirmed that nine individuals were initially abducted during the attack.
Following a distress call, vigilantes alerted soldiers, who pursued the attackers to the Eastern Bypass area. Despite their efforts, the bandits escaped with the remaining victims.
The community expressed concern over the incident, and attempts to contact the Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansur Hassan, were unsuccessful.
