Dangote Transport Launches Driver Monitoring Control Room

Dangote Transport has unveiled a Driver Monitoring Control Room at its operational base in Ibese, Ogun State, aimed at improving road safety and monitoring driving behavior across its fleet. David Idiege, the Head of Operations at Dangote Transport, stated that the facility allows for real-time monitoring of truck drivers to identify risky behaviors for prompt intervention.

He emphasized that safety is the company's highest priority and highlighted various measures already in place, such as speed limiters, vehicle immobilizers, and mandatory drug testing. Idiege noted that the company invests heavily in technology and training to maintain high safety standards.

Additionally, Ifeanyi Ezeala, the Head of Transport Control, mentioned that an on-board camera system has been installed in thousands of trucks, providing live views of driver conduct and generating alerts for potential safety threats. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure that drivers remain alert and professional throughout their journeys.
