Jack Draper Withdraws from French Open Due to Injury

Jack Draper, a 24-year-old British tennis player, has announced he will miss the remainder of the clay court season, including the upcoming French Open, due to an ongoing knee injury. Draper, currently ranked 28th in the world, suffered a tendon issue in his right knee, which forced him to retire from a match at the ATP 1000 tournament in Barcelona earlier this month.

He expressed optimism about returning to the court in June for the grass court season, stating he has started hitting the ball again but has been advised not to rush back into competition. Draper shared his disappointment on Instagram about missing the Grand Slam event, emphasizing the importance of recovery.

His ranking is projected to fall to around 50th, as he will be unable to defend the 650 ranking points earned from reaching the quarter-finals at last year's Italian Open and the fourth round of the French Open. He aims to begin the grass court season at Stuttgart, where he won a title two years ago.
