FRC and Housing Ministry Concerned Over Delta Housing Project

The Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) and the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development have raised concerns regarding the slow pace and quality of work at the Renewed Hope Affordable Housing Programme (RHAHP) project in the Asaba-Uvwie-Ekpan axis of Delta State. During an inspection by the FRC South-south Verification Team, it was noted that only four out of the 96 housing units were nearing completion, with many aspects, including roofing and infrastructure, remaining incomplete.
Mr. Bede Ogueri Anyanwu, Team Lead and Head of the Strategic Communications Directorate of the FRC, emphasized that the observed progress did not align with the programme's objectives. He urged contractors, specifically M/s Goodnews Creative Ideas Limited and M/s First Class Capital Project Limited, to return to the site to complete outstanding work.
Concerns were also raised about damaged roofing materials and the lack of progress on various project components, despite contracts being awarded since 2024. Uche Nwati, representing the Federal Ministry of Housing, attributed some challenges to inadequate feasibility studies conducted prior to contract awards.
