INEC Releases Final List of 2027 Presidential Candidates

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the final list of candidates cleared to contest in Nigeria's 2027 presidential elections, featuring 18 candidates from various political parties. The document, signed by INEC Secretary Rose Oriaran-Anthony, confirms that President Bola Tinubu will seek re-election under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will challenge him with the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Other notable candidates include Peter Obi, representing the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and Oluseyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, from the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

Sandy Ojang Onor will represent the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while Donald Duke will contest under the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP). The list also includes candidates from various parties such as the Labour Party (LP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and others, with two female presidential candidates: Ada Elizabeth Frederick Okwori (NDP) and Nkem Esther Okereke (NRM).

The age range of candidates spans from 35 to 79 years, with vice-presidential candidates aged between 35 and 80.
