NIPR Lagos Introduces New Categories for 2026 Awards

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Lagos State Chapter, has introduced new award categories for the 2026 Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala Awards, scheduled for December 11, 2026. At a media briefing, Chairman Dr Samuel Ayetutu emphasized the event's theme, "Redefining Innovation and Influence," reflecting the transformation in the communication industry.

He noted that the boundaries between public relations, advertising, digital communication, and brand management are increasingly blurred. Ayetutu stated that modern influence is earned through credibility and engagement rather than media budgets.

He highlighted the impact of the digital revolution on public relations, where a single social media post can shape national conversations. Dr Dare Ogunyombo, Chairman of the LAPRIGA Selection Committee, revealed that this year's awards will feature 15 regular categories and two honorary recognitions, designed to acknowledge excellence and emerging trends in the public relations sector.
