Chima Ofoeke Arrested for Murdering Ex-Girlfriend in Anambra

Chima Ofoeke has been apprehended by the Anambra State Police Command for the murder of his former girlfriend, Mmesoma Umeorini, following the end of their romantic relationship. The investigation commenced when Umeorini's mother reported her daughter missing on October 16.

Police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga stated that during preliminary questioning, Ofoeke admitted to killing Umeorini because she broke up with him. He subsequently directed detectives to the location of her remains.

A video captured by Premium Times showed Ofoeke being questioned while holding a dirty sack, which he confessed contained Umeorini's body. He indicated that the murder occurred on a Friday, the same day she ended their relationship.

Anambra Commissioner of Police Nnanna Ama has ordered the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka for a thorough investigation.
