MTN Nigeria has alerted its customers regarding a fraudulent online promotion that falsely claims to offer “1 Month Free Data for Old Subscribers.” In a statement shared on its X handle on Monday, MTN emphasized that this promotion is not legitimate and is not affiliated with the company. The telecom operator advised customers to refrain from clicking on any links associated with the post or providing their phone numbers or personal information on third-party websites.

MTN reiterated that it will never ask customers to submit their details on external platforms to claim data or rewards. The company clarified that all genuine promotions, products, and services are communicated exclusively through its official channels, including verified social media pages and the USSD code *180#.

MTN urged customers to remain vigilant against online scams that impersonate trusted brands, warning that such fraudulent offers are designed to deceive unsuspecting users. The company concluded by reiterating that the purported offer is fake and not associated with MTN Nigeria.
