Nigerian Navy Launches Community Projects in Gombe State

The Nigerian Navy has expanded its Civil-Military Quick Intervention Projects in Gombe State by inaugurating a newly constructed five-bedroom lodge for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and an upgraded dispensary in Malam Sidi, Kwami Local Government Area. These projects were executed in honor of Rear Admiral Sulaiman Abdullahi.

Representing the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, Rear Admiral Yakubu Dahiru, the Director of Project Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, stated that the Navy recognizes community development as vital for civil-military relations. The initiative aims to strengthen bonds between the Navy, government, and local communities.

Abdullahi, the project facilitator, noted that the lodge was inspired by Gombe State Deputy Governor Manassah Jatau and will provide decent accommodation for corps members. The renovated dispensary, formerly an Area Health Office from the colonial era, is intended to enhance healthcare access for residents.

Abdullahi urged the community to maintain the facilities for future generations.
