NEDC Advocates for Electric Mobility in Taraba State

The North-East Development Commission (NEDC) has called for stakeholder support in Taraba State for the introduction of electric mobility, which aims to create jobs, lower transportation costs, and reduce environmental pollution. This call was made during a stakeholders’ sensitisation workshop on the deployment and sustainable operation of electric mobility held on a Monday.
The workshop was opened by Mallam Adamu Lawal, the Taraba State Coordinator, on behalf of Mohammed G. Alkali, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NEDC. Lawal encouraged participants to engage in meaningful discussions to develop effective strategies for the successful implementation of electric vehicles in the state.
The initiative includes the introduction of electric buses, vehicles, and tricycles, promoting a cleaner transportation system and expanding economic opportunities. NEDC emphasized that the success of this initiative relies on collaboration among stakeholders and the development of practical strategies for long-term sustainability, aiming to enhance connectivity, economic growth, and environmental protection in Taraba State.
