Ogun Governor Abiodun Approved Revised Allowances for Doctors

The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) in Sagamu praised Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun for the approval and commencement of payment of revised Professional and Specialist Allowances to its members. This decision fulfills commitments made by the state government after discussions with the resident doctors.

Dr John Omotoso, president of the ARD, expressed gratitude for the governor's timely intervention, stating that the revised allowances would boost the morale and productivity of resident doctors. The association emphasized that this development would enhance OOUTH's attractiveness for postgraduate medical training and help address the current shortage of resident doctors.

The ARD also acknowledged the contributions of Mr Tokunbo Talabi, Secretary to the Ogun State Government, and others for their roles in promoting doctors' welfare and healthcare quality. Omotoso reiterated the association's commitment to constructive engagement with the government to strengthen medical residency training in Ogun State.
