Osun Lawmaker Arrested with 200 PVCs, 146 Suspects

In the early hours of Saturday, the Osun State Police Command arrested Hon. Abiola Ibrahim Inaolaji, a serving member of the State House of Assembly representing Irewole/Isokan State Constituency, along with 146 suspected electoral mercenaries in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area.

The operation was conducted by the FBI-IRT as part of security measures ahead of the governorship election. During the raid, approximately 200 Permanent Voter Cards were recovered from Inaolaji's residence.

In a video clip, he allegedly admitted to facilitating the movement of the suspects into Osun State from neighboring states for electoral purposes. The police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

Additionally, in a separate operation, 33 suspected electoral mercenaries were arrested at Babs Hotel in Ede, with four voters' cards recovered. Preliminary investigations revealed that these suspects were allegedly recruited by an unidentified politician for unlawful electoral activities.
