Lawmaker Inaolaji Arrested Amid Osun Election Security Crackdown

Inaolaji, a lawmaker representing the Irewole/Isokan State Constituency and a member of the Accord party, was arrested in the early hours of Saturday during a police operation in Osogbo, Osun. The arrest was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abiosun Ojelabi.

Ojelabi stated that the operation was part of intensified security measures by the police to prevent actions that could undermine the credibility of the electoral process. Alongside Inaolaji, 146 suspected political thugs were also apprehended, indicating a significant crackdown on potential electoral violence ahead of the upcoming elections.

The involvement of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) highlights the seriousness of the situation and the collaborative efforts to ensure a secure electoral environment.
