Omidiran Becomes SWAN's First National Matron

Hon. Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, the Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), was formally invested as the first National Matron of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) during the 2026 SWAN Triennial Delegates Congress held in Kaduna. Her nomination by the National Executive Committee of SWAN acknowledges her significant contributions to sports administration, public service, women's football, youth development, and national integration.

SWAN President Comrade Isaiah Benjamin stated that Omidiran was selected for her exceptional track record in sports and her longstanding commitment to the sector. He emphasized that her leadership at the FCC has been marked by institutional reforms and stakeholder engagement, aligning with SWAN's values.

Omidiran's extensive involvement in football, including her role on the Nigeria Football Federation board and her establishment of Omidiran Babes, a women's football club, further underscores her dedication to sports development and youth empowerment.
